We celebrated our birthday with a lekker kuier on the beautiful Cape wine farm, Delheim. All past employees of the firm were invited and we were honoured with the presence of Dectra's founder, Ann Terblanche.
In the modern world, with technology developing at such breakneck speed and with communication being so extremely advanced, 21 years is a long time. We regard our 21 years in business as a great achievement.
Dectra was started by Ann Terblanche on 1 October 1989, when she put up office on her own in Bre street, Cape Town and started to recruit clients for her services as a specialist consultant on the Department of Trade & Industry's industry support programmes. I joined the firm during 1992, pushing the staff compliment to exactly three persons. Today we are still a small firm put we have built a great name and have earned the respect of the market, our opponents and professional firms, even the Department!
Competition in the free market system is tough and a good reputation is something all businesses strive for and nurture once they have it. For a business to survive in the long run, it has to be one of the best. No one with long term ambitions can afford to deliver poor quality or poor service or to be dishonest in their dealings. At Dectra we strive to comply with these basics.
- A professional firm must deliver work of the highest quality. Dectra implemented an ISO 9001 quality management system to ensure we achieve this and to give the market piece of mind.
- Our point of departure is that good client service is our best marketing tool. To ensure we do not let our clients down, almost all our rates are success based.
- Honesty is the life philosophy of our business.
Thank you to every client and every organisation who have supported us over the years. Without your support Dectra would not have existed today.
